UPES was established in the year 2003 through the UPES Act (2003) of the State Legislature of Uttrakhand and listed under Section 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 and has expanded the UPES charter under the ‘UPES (Amendment) Act, 2018. Click here for the letter of establishment.

The UPES has been recognized as a Scientific and Research Organization by DISR, the Ministry of Science Technology, and the Government of India.

Distance Education Programmes of UPES are approved by Distance Education Council

All Law Programmes offered by UPES are recognized by the Bar Council of India

Bachelor and Diploma Programs run by the UPES School of Health Sciences are recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India

Two programs of UPES’s School of Business - Master of Business Administration (Oil and Gas Management) and Master of Business Administration (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) have received specialized accreditation through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE), USA.
