Vijay Prakash has a Master’s in Software Engineering and a PhD Resource Management in Cloud Computing from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. He has 8 years of teaching experience and has published more than 25 research articles in various SCI/SCIE journals and International conferences.

Before joining UPES, Dr. Prakash was at the Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, and held a lecturer position. He has also worked as visiting researcher at the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, University of Malta, Malta (Europe) for 1 year.

Dr. Prakash’s teaching philosophy is that he must foster student learning. He uses pre-reading assignments and short quizzes to “flip the classroom” in his classes. Quiz material is used to create real-world assignments in class. Authentic difficulties help students become experts.
Dr Prakash teaches Cloud Security, Application Containerization, Cloud Performance Tuning, Cloud Analytics Tools and Modeling and Simulation. He worked on the different Cloud Security tools to discover the threat to information and data sharing and How to manage and allocate the shared resources in the Cloud environment.
Dr Prakash has Received ERASMUS (European Region Action Scheme for the Mobility of University Students) plus a fellowship of 12000 Euro from the European Government for two semesters from January 2022 to June 2022 and Feb 2019 to July 2019. He has also received a grant of 2000 Euro from the Ministry of Council for Science & Technology in Malta to present his project work.
Dr. Prakash has worked with researchers from Kenya, the UK, the US, Malta, Canada, Australia and Italy. He has supervised some master’s students of Liverpool Kohn Moore University, United Kingdom and the University of Liverpool, United Kingdom.
