Dr. Aditya Raj

Dr Aditya Raj completed his PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Having more than 5 years of research experience, he has expertise in the field of Spatial Data Analysis, Rough Set Theory, Game Theory and Machine Learning. He has authored around 7 research papers, articles, and journal papers in SCI/Scopus/ESCI/INSPEC indexed journals. He has reviewed several conference papers and journal articles. Dr Raj joined UPES in September 2022 and advocated for a healthy work environment, dedication, and hard work. His teaching approach is centred around ensuring tangible results and practical knowledge acquisition for his students.

Before joining UPES, Dr Aditya Raj was pursuing PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

Dr Raj strives to empower students by providing the tools and guidance they need to succeed. He keeps on motivating students to pursue their respective goals. He always emphasizes on latest tools and techniques as pedagogy for empowering students with technical concepts. Citing examples from the real world, he fosters creative thinking and binds the entire class to a single objective of learning. With the objective of open dialogues, critical thinking, and research collaborations, he is always available for young and needy minds.

Dr Raj cleared Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) conducted by National Testing Agency (UGC) in December 2018 with 99.9978 percentile. Further, he also cleared National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by University Grant Commission and National Testing Agency in July 2016, November 2017, July 2018, and December 2018. He qualified Graduate Aptitude Test (GATE) conducted by Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee in 2017. He was the State Topper (Mathematics) in 2008 International Assessments for Indian Schools conducted by Macmillan Publishers India Ltd. Further, he received merit recognition certificate (Top 7 % of candidates) in National IT Aptitude Test conducted by NIIT and merit certificates in ‘Brain of Bihar’ competition.

Dr Raj has mentored various B. Tech research projects and helped in motivating students to pursue research work. He has guided two teams of young B. Tech minds of Petroleum Engineering students to successfully complete a minor project titled ‘Data Analytics and Machine Learning in Petroleum Industry” and “A Theoretical Study on Machine Learning in Oil and Gas Pipelines’.
