The Family Business and Entrepreneurship (Incubators & Accelerators) with a specialization in Incubators & Accelerators at UPES School of Business is designed to equip students with the necessary knowledge and skills to support and nurture startups. The curriculum blends core business management courses with specialized courses focused on incubation and acceleration strategies. Through the core courses, students will gain a strong foundation in various business disciplines, including finance, marketing, operations, and leadership. These courses provide essential knowledge and skills required to effectively understand and manage businesses. The specialization courses then dive into the unique aspects of incubators and accelerators, covering topics such as startup evaluation, business model innovation, funding strategies, and scaling strategies.
To ensure practical learning, the program emphasizes hands-on experiences such as live projects, case studies, and internships in startup incubators, accelerators, or related organizations. Students will have the opportunity to engage with industry experts and successful entrepreneurs through workshops, guest lectures, and networking events, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the startup ecosystem. Field visits to prominent startup incubators, accelerators, and entrepreneurial ecosystems further enhance the students' understanding of the thriving startup culture in India. These visits provide a firsthand experience of the real-world challenges faced by startups in the incubation and acceleration process. In addition, a capstone project allows students to apply their knowledge and skills to address these challenges.
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be well-prepared for careers in startup incubators, accelerators, venture capital firms, corporate innovation teams, and entrepreneurship development organizations. They will possess the necessary expertise to evaluate, select, and support startups, contribute to business model innovation, facilitate funding and investment, and drive the growth and scaling of startups.
