Akshara Nair designed a capsule hotel, inspired by its Japanese origins. The concept features compact capsules, similar to single-sized beds, offering sufficient height for comfortable sitting.

Akshara Nair, a student pursuing the degree of B.Des. with the specialisation in Interior & Retail Space Design from the batch of 2018-22 completed the project of designing an Autism Care Centre.
Aiming to establish a care centre for children aged 6 to 10 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) near Pondha Village in Dehradun, by utilizing shipping containers for its construction. This innovative centre will encompass both residential and therapy spaces, fostering a holistic environment for support and growth.
The building's ground floor comprises a welcoming reception area, an administrative office, a counselling room, and an occupational therapy space, as well as a multi-sensory room on the left side. On the right side, there's a dining area adjacent to a kitchen and a conveniently located laundry room. Worker accommodations are positioned after the laundry room, followed by staff washrooms. Furthermore, the ground floor accommodates a speech therapy room and a children's washroom. This level also has a scenic lawn and an accessible play area. Access to the first floor can be achieved via stairs or a ramp. The first floor encompasses comfortable accommodations for both students and teachers, providing a space for relaxation and rejuvenation.
